WHERE I COME FROM

I was born and raised in New Richmond WI right here in St Croix County to Paul Kittel and Sandy Gehrmann. I have four children ages 17-32 who I raised in New Richmond and 4 grandbabies ages 1-5. I have always been proud to have roots in St Croix County.

MY CAREER WITH THE CLERK OF COURTS OFFICE

I started my journey with St Croix County in June of 2010 when I was summoned for jury duty. Since I had earned my B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice Administration, you can imagine I was thrilled to get called to serve! I served on a one day civil trial that was heard before the now retired Judge Vlack. After serving on the trial, I reached out to Lori Meyer who was the Clerk of Court at that time and inquired as to any open Bailiff positions. In July of 2010 I would begin my six year term as a jury bailiff for St Croix County. I loved being the first face / impression of St Croix County and took that role seriously as jurors came in to serve. I was able to meet thousands of St Croix County residents and get to know them over the course of a trial with some trials lasting for weeks. Working part-time as a Jury Bailiff allowed me to continue raising my children while gaining valuable experience within the criminal justice system.

In 2016 I interviewed for and was offered a full-time position as the Small Claims Clerk where I process all the money judgment, eviction, and replevin claims from start to finish, entering judgments and orders as directed by the Court.  Over the years I have been cross-trained and am highly experienced in the areas of Civil, Family, Front Desk, as well as courtroom clerking for the Court Commissioners, and can serve as backup for the Judge's Clerks as needed. I am also trained for the jury desk. I schedule, recruit volunteer mediators and maintain our highly success Small Claims Mediation Program. I have also collaborated with the Judges and Court Commissioner to streamline the small claims process to ensure efficiency for the judicial calendars, court services, and the citizens we serve.
